Stand with dumbbells at your sides and raise them to shoulder height, front on one rep and lateral on the next. Keep elbows slightly bent and avoid swinging.

Form sequence
01 · start
In a standing position, hold a pair of dumbbells at your side.
02 · front raise · Key step
Keeping your elbows slightly bent, raise the weights directly in front of you to shoulder height, avoiding any swinging or cheating.
03 · lower
Return the weights to your side.
04 · lateral raise
On the next repetition, raise the weights laterally, raising them out to your side to about shoulder height.
05 · alternate
Return the weights to the starting position and continue alternating to the front and side.
