The only internal-rotator of the rotator cuff; lies on the anterior surface of the scapula.

Function
Internal rotation and stabilization of the shoulder.
Origin
Subscapular fossa of the scapula (its anterior surface).
Insertion
Lesser tubercle of the humerus (tuberculum minus).
